The thought of handling over our little one to the daycare of a stranger is one of the most difficult things  young parent faces.

It does not have to be. One of the things that parents can sometimes forget is that the parents themselves are the best day care providers for their children.

One of the most rewarding ways of handling the day care challenges for ourselves - and it is rewarding in several ways - is starting up one's own day care center.

Care for our child is one of the great joys of parenting. Day care is rewarding in seeing and experiencing the little one grow. All good things come to an end as we are concerned about the social growth of our child. There is also the nasty distraction of having to consider returning to our jobs.

And the heart strings begin to tug at us as we force ourselves to face the decision about some sort of more formal daycare.
